Campus navigation
When I was first year student I found hard to navigate in my university. The campus was huge and I did not know where is the classroom that I need and when is the next workshop within a specific department. It was clear problem statement and that is amazing but several years later this problem is not resolved in my university and I think in many universities around the World.
The web service that we developed is targeted to students. The main idea of this project is to provide a university campus map in a browser. Using this map you can explore the campus, find a classroom that you need, interesting events or people who work there. For example, if I would like to visit MIT I can go to this web site to check the location of an interesting department and find upcoming events.
Unique map
The core idea of the service is campus map. If you are new student it can help to navigate and find right places. A lot of universities have own maps and sometimes own navigation systems but often students do not use it fully.
We believe that map may include much more than just navigation and that is why we impelemented time related events and people who work in an university in our system.
First exploration
The pilot prototype that we built was targeted to some parts of campus in my universtity, St. Petersburg Technological Institute.
