Dutch Design Week takes place every year at the end of October. This event happens in Eindhoven and consist of several exhibitions around the city. This time it was three sections: city center, Strijp-area and east.
On the map you can see exhibitions with certain number 37 . Some of the exhibitions have name on the map in the yellow box like TAC that I went. You also can find places to eat, free Wi-Fi spots, ATM's and parkings.
A non-discount ticket for whole week costs € 17,50 but if you are student it will cost 5 euros cheaper and if you are child than you are welcom for free.
To catch attention of people this year organizers used autos around the city with some showpieces.
So, I visited several exhibitions and found that there are a lot of things to see and I consider that it can be usefull to go there for inspiration. Usually, the showpieces are represented by creators, so you can ask people how they came up with an idea and all other details. I took my old camera with me and made some pictures.
Finally, what I found in Dutch Design Week. I explored interesting shapes and patterns:
Some things reminded me soviet constructors:
Sometimes I felt like on a photo exhibition:
And quite often showpieces moved me to modern art:
But I found and something new like this carpet:
Or hand-made tiles:
Or weird metal mirrored shapes:
Sand in a circle reminded me a clock:
Scotch tape with printed road patterns:
Sculptured cups:
A wood dish:
And wood usb-sticks:
Some people worked during exhibition like this guy which makes lamps:
The final result:
Some showpieces I found quite usefull in daily life. Simple and nice wine holder:
iPhone holder from the same author:
Hand made carpet and the guy is working on it:
Becoming so popular last years 3D printers:
Explored pixels with a lens:
Found some jewelry with a resistor that was made with love:
Looked what is BigMac made of:
Dipped fingers into an interesting cup:
Recognized a deer silhouette that looks nice on black wall:
Picnic table, one of the best findings:
Some sculptures that were made with unusual materials:
Discovered miniatures that looks amazing on this photo:
Projected planes reminded me Moon in the World War II:
Awesome creature that can dance with music from Rocky Balboa movie:
Resized but still working table lamp:
And street art on the wall:
That was a small piece of Dutch Design Week 2014, less than 10%. I enjoyed to visit it and I would like to be there again in one year. A lot of things can be in our homes tomorrow and who knows maybe impression from these exhibitions can help us to be more creative and inspired already today ;)
